New Book Cover
This is the book cover that I created for Matched. It represents the uniformity of the Matching Ceremony, and the sameness of the matches. However, in the bottom right corner, you can see a 'mistake'... two boys and one girl; the love triangle between Cassia, Xander and Ky.

ReplyDeleteI think this is a really decent book cover. It is simple but elegant and has meaning to it. It shows how everyone there is matched up with someone but the odd ones out are the 3 at the bottom forming a love triangle. I think that the words could pop out a little because with all the blue, black, red and white (repeating), it makes it confusing to read the text (not Matched of course because it is green) such as Ally Condie (thought is was Ally Concie at first).
I also think think that you need to make the love triangle more visible and add more colours around it too. For example one side is green and calm with the guy Cassia is matched with and one side where it is red and kind of agitated for the guy she wants (or something). I think you can also add some more story (or hints) to the cover. So far all I know is that the love triangle is different from everyone else but I don't know the mood of the story or any speck of hint of the story. The story can be that they are different and they live that way or maybe someone hates them for it and tries to get them. Of course you are not an artist but these are some criticisms to help you (and hopefully I'm not being too mean).
